WorldTeach-ers

So it starts...I had the opportunity to meet with another WorldTeach volunteer (also from MI) this weekend, Adam. He had some valuable advice to give, based on his experience working with the community on HIV/AIDS issues, and spending time in a developing country, the Philippines. It was great talking and connecting with someone on a similar path. Our group members are so diverse and unique, but also have this important connection.

I'm a little intimidated now that I'm getting to learn about the other volunteers heading to Namibia...there is so much experience teaching and traveling and volunteering...I don't know how on earth I got accepted to join such a talented group, but I'm definitely proud and excited!

Meanwhile I'm overloaded with fundraising work. Carl Levin, Debbie Stabenow, and Carolyn Cheeks-Kilpatrick better come through!

Lindsey! You got accepted into this program because you are talented, gifted and have such awesome energy to share with your fellow volunteers and with your community in Namibia. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we haven't met yet, but I can already tell that from our email exchanges and what not. I'm pumped to share this experience with you and the rest of the crew. Have an amazing day. Peace. Love. Obama. :)
